SHOWREEL EDIT

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should my showreel be?

A rough rule of thumb suggests 3 minutes is the maximum length for a showreel video, but the first 20-30 seconds are the most important. If you haven’t caught their attention, a casting director may well move on.

How long does a showreel take to edit?

Typically I will get a first cut back to you within 2-3 days and a final cut in 4 days

How many revisions will I get?

I’ll do corrections until you’re happy with the reel but clients tend to be happy after 1 revision.

How much will it cost me?

A showreel will cost you £120 (incl. VAT) total, no matter the revisions required and is payable once you’re happy with the reel

What format will you deliver in?

I’ll send draft copies in low res H.264 with a watermark but final delivery will be 1080p H.264, which Spotlight and other video streaming sites will accept for upload. Or if your footage is originally 4K, I will also provide a version that preserves this higher resolution

Can I have some input on how my showreel is put together?

You can have as little or as much input as you like. If you’d like to provide a running order or notes to follow, feel free! I also export a rough cut so you know your demo reel is headed in the right direction!

Can you re-edit a scene to make me more prominent?

I can trim scenes, lessen other actors lines to give you maximum screen-time

I’m a talent agent, can you incorporate a ‘house style’?

If you provide branding, I can develop a house style for your clients’ showreels to follow.

What if my footage is on Youtube or somewhere else?

In many cases I can download from source, though if it’s on a paid streaming service such as Netflix you may want to contact the production company and ask for a copy.
